Q: Why isn't the Center open every day or even 5 days per week?

A: It's all about volunteers. As a 100% volunteer-operated entity, the Lake Erie Seaway Trail Center depends upon volunteers to staff the Center to welcome visitors. While the Center has many volunteers on its Board and playing many important roles to maintain and expand the center, several have full-time jobs that preclude volunteering on-site during the weekday. As we build our corps of volunteers whose schedules can support weekday volunteerism, the center will open more during the Monday-Thursday timeframe and deeper into the fall and spring "shoulder seasons".
